Waste collection services are required to handle very large quantities of hospital waste, which sometimes has to be transported over very long distances and centralized on dedicated sites in order to treat it quickly, efficiently and securely.
Today, the most common process still used by collection companies to render biomedical waste safe is incineration. However, this method is very controversial, particularly for environmental reasons, and requires complex and expensive facilities that are adapted to the treatment of biomedical waste. New techniques of waste treatment by recognized and adapted methods called “low temperature”, respectful of the environment, have appeared over the past few years and are now recommended by the WHO. Each Sterilwave equipment, thanks to an automatic process, low operating cost and high performance means, can treat 20 to more than 80 kg / hour of waste, without producing any liquid effluent and mobilizing the operator only 10 minutes per cycle. Several Sterilwave 440 equipment, installed at the same place, can, for example, process up to several tonnes of waste per day, providing unrivalled throughput along with some of the lowest operating costs on the market.
